Greece - Ios Island


Ios island belongs to Cyclades islands region.  It is a mountainous island with a lot of beautiful chapels, olive trees, vineyards, chrystal clear water, sandy beaches and a medieval castle on the top of the mountain.

Greece - Elafonissos island - Peloponesse


Elafonissos (The island of a deer) is at the southern side of the region Peloponesse.  It is a small, but beautiful island with crystal clear waters. The most famous beach is called Simos (on the photo)

Greece - Serifos Island, Cyclades


The village of Panogia (Our Lady Virgin Mary) from the fine 10th century church which bears the same name, commands a panoramic view of the whole island. Hora or Serifos the main town of the island has a lot of little white cube-shaped houses and churches with blue doors and windows.

Greece - Sifnos island, Cyclades


The island is a gray rocky landscape broken up here and there by a small white chapel.  365 churhes and chapels are all over the island.
There are many clean and attractive beaches and Sifnos is also famous for the fine ceramic artifacts - typical of Sifnos

Greece - Retymnon prefecture - Crete island

Perivolia (gardens in greek) - suburb of Rethymno.
Athina lived here in the past.


Arcadi monastery.  It is the most famous monastery all over Crete and Greece because of its revolutionary fights against the Turks on Nov. 8th 1866 

Panormos - 20 kms from Eethymno.  Evangelos worked there as religion teacher in the past.

Preveli - in south Crete. The monastery of Saint John was important during the revolution against the Turks

Greece - Kastelorizo island - South Aegean

Kastelorizo (or Megisti) is the Aegeans eastermost island.  Belongs to Dodecanese islands, very close to Turkey.  The name kastelorozo comes from the castle  "Castelo Rosso" (or red castle) erected by the knights of St. John.

Greece - Unesco Delos. North Cyclades islands

The sacred island of Delos was in the myths the birthplace of Apollo and his sister Artemis. 
Today the island is inhabited.  Delos belongs to the North Cyclades islands.  It is full of archological monuments like the one on the card.  It is called the sacred way of lions.
