My maincollections are Unesco WHS and People in traditional costumes. I also like postcards of beautifully illuminated towns/villages at dawn/night, beautiful reflections, beautiful landscapes and more. I also collect cards sent from rare countries, special territories/places with special postmarks.

St. Eustatius - View of St. Kitts from Fort de Windt
Fort de Windt - also known as Lisbournes Battery, built between 1753 and 1775. Named by the shan Governor Jan de Windt. The walls are nowhere higher than 45 cm. The fortification had only 3 soldiers. There were 4 cannons. It was used to control shiproutes to the island of Saint Kitts. The place was given up in 1815.
Sint Eustatius, also known affectionately to the locals as Statia or Statius, is part of the Caribbean Netherlands.
The island has an area of 21 square kilometres. In the 2001 census, the population was recorded as 3,543 inhabitants. The official language is Dutch, but english is the language of everyday life and the education is solely in English. A local English-based creole is also spoken informally.
