Greece - Unesco Archaeological Site of Aigai (modern name Vergina)

The small village is gained world wide renown with the discoveries made there by professor Manolis Afndronikos in the late 1970s. The incredible wealth of the sities finds led to the conclusion that Vergina was actually the first capital of the Kingdom of Macedonia. The most important monuments at Vergina is the complex of royal tombs, which were unearthed in 1977-78 in the present village. The largest of them belonged to Phillip II (Alexander the greate father). A smaller one to a young prince, perhaps Alexsander the Great, and the third is a cist cove, which belongs to a woman.

Corfu is a Greek island in the Ionian Sea. It is the second largest of the Ionian Islands.
Its Greek name Kerkyra or Korkyra, is related to two powerful water symbols:  Poseidon, God of the Sea, and Asopos, an important Greek mainland river.  According to myth, Poseidon fell in love with the beautiful nymph Koorkyra, daughter of Asopus and river numph Metope, and abduced her.
