Nafplio west of Athens. It was the first capital city of Greece after Greece was liberated from Turks in 1835. In Nafplio was Greeces first high school and the first governor of Greece in 1835 was John Kapodistrios. If you climb up the 999 steps, you arrive to the venetian fortress of Palamidi (middle photo)
